Hospital CEO's Take A Beating On Capitol Hill

Yesterday’s hearing on Capitol Hill sent a clear and sobering message to the hospital community: scrutiny of our industry is intensifying—and it’s coming from both sides of the aisle. Hospital CEOs faced tough, and at times pointed, questioning from lawmakers on issues ranging from pricing transparency and medical debt to consolidation and patient access. What stood out most was the bipartisan tone—this is no longer a partisan issue, but a shared concern in Washington.

For ARCP members, this reinforces the reality that revenue cycle operations are increasingly at the center of the policy debate. Decisions being made in these hearings will directly impact how we bill, collect, communicate with patients, and demonstrate value. Now more than ever, it’s critical that our voice—and our expertise—are part of the conversation.
